Have you ever, in the run up to a player's great big round number, wished the hype would go away? Wished the bandwagon fans would disappear? It isn't the round number, like the approaching 500th HR for Manny Ramirez's 500th HR or Ken Griffey Jr's 600th, that matter, but the careers that proceeded the milestones.
