Another under-producing veteran was cut, and this time it's Jim Edmonds, former center fielder for the San Diego Padres. Over 100 points below his career batting average, Edmonds apologized when the Padre's GM and manager told him of the move, saying that he'd had such high hopes over the winter. The club is trying to jump-start their team and can no longer suffer a center fielder dropping balls.
