Cincinnati Reds' outfielder Ken Griffey Jr.'s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and the team is unlikely to re-sign him. Griffey, with 597 career home runs, was rumored to be heading back to Seattle, where he enjoyed the prime of his career. The Mariners have said they are not persuing Griffey.
