An interesting phenomenon in baseball is the topic of race. A study on the effects of the race of the umpires attempts to reveal if there is any “same-race” effect in terms of calls. The results seem to support this theory by revealing a correlation between favorable calls from an umpire of a certain race in relation to a player of that same race.
