Two young pitchers are beginning to gain scouts’ attention in the minors. Left hander Antonio Bastardo is absolutely dominant in the Phillies system. He currently has a 1.17 ERA and 47Ks after striking out 13 over 8 two-hit innings last night, giving him his third game out of the last five with double digit Ks. Trevor Cahill in the A’s system is leaving off where he left of last season despite moving up to a tougher league. With a 1.80 ERA and 39 Ks so far he’s headed toward a promotion to Double-A ball soon.
