Many were disappointed by the Pirates’ 2005 first-round pick, Andrew McCutchen’s mediocre performance at the Double-A level last year, however, scouts remained loyal, and it appears their patience will pay off. Through 21 games this season he is batting .294 with 14 extra base hits and 5 homers. As of now he is a top candidate for Rookie of the Year next season.
