The New York Yankees have placed catcher Jorge Posada on the disabled list for the first time in his career and called up 26-year-old Chris Stewart to fill his place on the roster. Chad Moeller, who the Yankees had used as a backup for Posada and Jose Molina, still has 72 hours until he clears waivers, after which he must wait for 10 more days before being available to recall to the bigs.
