Minor league baseball teams, in the attempt to increase attendance, are known for wacky promotional events. Well, that trend was set to continue with the Kansas City T-Bones of the Northern League scheduled to have a Michael Vick "Welcome to the Neighborhood" night in May, until the team canceled the event.   The night would have had prison uniforms, spotlights and promotion for fair treatment of animals to make fun of  Vick, who is serving his sentence in a prison in Leavenworth, Kansas.

i agree. that's messed up to publically humiliate someone. he's been through enough as it is. im not saying has sympathy, but he's in prison. he probably feels like a complete moron. he'll have plenty of time to think about what he did while he's sitting in there, i don't think we need to rub it in. very low class move to even think about doing something like that.

While I think this is basically hilarious, it's probably better that it got canceled- however completely terrible the guy might be, celebrating his misery is a little perverse.

Minor League Event

When I worked for a minor league team - the Kane County Cougars, a single A team near Chicago - we tried to have the largest pillow fight. I think we didn't get it, but then, when I went back to school in Iowa, they also tried to set the record for the same thing at the UI's dance marathon. That's my experience with minor league gimmicks.
