Closer J.J. Putz, who saved 40 games for Seattle last season, was activated from the disabled list, where he spent 18 games recovering from a rib injury. Erik Bedard, acquired this off-season from Baltimore, will make his next start on Saturday against Oakland, assuming his bullpen session on Thursday goes well.
