Frank Thomas’ abrupt release from the Blue Jays has certainly caused a lot of commotion among the big leagues. The availability of a big time heavy hitter suitable as a DH or first baseman raises some interesting questions as well. There are a number of teams out there with a dire need for an upgrade in the batting order or another field player. Thomas can fill that spot, but who will snatch him up and what does this tell about other older power hitters, such as Bonds?
