Still in the League

I couldn't believe this article when I saw it. I think it was around five years ago, Stairs played for the Cubs, and I thought he was done. But, I guess he's smartly moved and stayed in the AL. It's funny, when you look at his stats at how good they are. It's funny how J.P. Riccardi and Billy Beane find a spot for him (any connection between those two? How about Stairs and, let's say, Scott Hatteberg (or however you spell it)?)

. . . a career .846 OPS batter that you can get for $850k/year?    He might be nearing the end of his career, but I would take it.     . . . At least so I could have a beer with the guy.

Adam Lind and the 0.0001% of fantasy owners that own him are going to benefit more from Thomas leaving than Stairs.
