In an attempt to maintain their competitive play this season, the Oakland A’s are in the midst of rumors involving two of baseball’s biggest sluggers, Frank Thomas and Barry Bonds . Despite claims from management that these two are nowhere in sight in the team’s future, the possibility cannot be completely ruled out.

Really?

Okay, the M fan in me says "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" The "see-the-other-side-history- minor" in me understands why the A's would think 'bout getting someone with power onto their line up. The "do you really want to be the team Bonds is play for should he end up in jail even if it is the off season when it happens" hopes they don't do it either. And, I might be wrong, but didn't Thomas get freed up because he isn't producing either?

i hope the a's dont go for either. bonds would have to adjust to AL pitchers, and i think both of them are just getting old. i cant see bonds being a big help in the locker room, and even though the fans may love the big hurt, i dont think the guys in the locker room would see him as any type of savior. i hope the rumors arent true.

I would take the Big Hurt Back . . .

. . . any day . . . as long as he's willing to take a pay cut to come back to a place where he was loved. I would say that there are too many DH-types in Oakland right now, but the reality is that none of those DH-types are hitting home runs. OAK needs more of that to have any chance of maintaining the decent ball they are playing.
