Toledo Mud Hen Mike Hessman’s career high three homers may not have carried his team to a win over the Louisville Bats, but they did secure him the title of Toledo’s all-time RBI leader . Hessman played a brief stint with the Tigers last season, but has otherwise been a Mud Hen regular since 2005.

I might just be a sucker, but hearing guys make records in the minors is more exciting than in the majors... That they'll stick with baseball long enough, even if it isn't for the glory in the MLB, to earn all-time-team-anything-record, that is dedication to the sport. That's something worth celebrating.
