Evan Longoria signed a 6 years, 17 million dollars, two club options contract with the Tampa Bay Rays. If you're asking yourself, "Who?" you aren't alone. He was called up to Tampa a week ago. But, as EJ Fagan points out, the Rays are just trying to protect their farm system from teams like the Yankees. It'll be interesting to see if this succeeds for them or not.
