At this time last year, Cliff Lee was pitching in the minor leagues and Brad Lidge was being promoted and demoted to and from the closers role. But as is the case in sports, both players received a second chance. Lee with the Indians and Lidge with Philadelphia. And both took that chance and made the best out of it.
Lee has 23 wins and is a shoe-in for the AL Cy Young. Lidge, who didn't blow a save this entire season, will close games in the playoffs for Philadelphia.
