After the Blue Jays beat the Red Sox 6-3 Saturday, the Tampa Bay Rays locked up the AL East division. But as we have seen with all sports, especially baseball, the Wild Card from each league is often extremely successful in the postseason (the Rockies in 2007, White Sox in 2005 and Marlins in 2004)
Which is why the Red Sox are ok with locking up the Wild Card, which it seems like they will do on Saturday, even if they don't win. This is the case because the Twins have been struggling so mightly, cutting the Red Sox' magic number each day.
