It seems to be a rarity in everything related to baseball that the league acts quickly. And, depending on how you look at the league's need for replay (the Jeffrey Mayer game comes to mind), it seems that Bud Selig acted quickly to preserve the integrity of the game by instituting instant replay. At this point, however, the details of the agreement between the umpires and MLB are unknown - specifically how long it will take to implement instant replay.
