In an update from an earlier post, it seems that Chris Carpenter's shoulder strain is serious enough to land him on the 15-day dl. The Cardinals pitcher only managed to make 3 starts between injuries and seems doubtful that he will be back to his old self any time soon. Brad Thompson has taken his spot in the rotation for this week.
