According to the Seattle Times, both Raul Ibanez and Jarrod Washburn were claimed off waivers. Neither was traded to the team which claimed them. Ibanez, we have learned, was claimed by the Tigers, and Washburn by the Twins. And as we said yesterday, the reasoning for each player's claim was to block them from going somewhere else.
