Boston 3B Mike Lowell has been placed on the 15-day dl with a left oblique strain. Lowell has been hitting in both the cleanup and 5 spots since the departure of Manny Ramirez. Without Lowell or Manny in the middle of the lineup, their run production will certainly suffer.
