The Blue Jays released outfielder Shannon Stewart on Monday, ending a return to the team that drafted him in 1992. Stewart, who was hitting .240 with one home run and 14 RBIs, suffered a sprained right ankle on June 8th and was subsequently placed on the DL. He played just eight rehab games before his release.
