Cincinnati Reds outfielder Adam Dunn was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks for three minor leaguers in a rare August deal, completed only after Dunn cleared waivers. Although passed over by more than a few teams, Dunn should provide the D-backs with a power hitter - something they've been lacking - in the chase for the NL West pennant.

Dunn clears waivers?!

How the hell did Dunn clear waivers? Seems like there would be high demand for a slugger like him, especially for a team in the playoff race...

There's a really interesting piece down in the by the numbers section that's worth checking out, in my opinion. It talks about what the Dunn trade means for the D-Backs over the rest of the season.
