Jose Contreras ruptured his Achilles' tendon Saturday, which will put an end to his season. Contreras was activated from the disabled list (elbow tendinitis) before Saturday's game versus Boston, but was forced to leave the game after suffering the injury in the second inning. The Cuban's injury occurred when he was running over to cover first base.

The injury, from a fantasy perspective, puts an end to a frustrating campaign for the owners of Contreras. His season has been hampered by injuries, but at times, has looked dominant.  There's no word yet on how long it will take Contreras to recover from the injury, but it wouldn't surprise us if his rehab extends into spring training of next year. But be sure to stay tuned.
