This is a story that would typically be found in the news and rumors section, but I feel that certain fantasy measures should be taken to ensure that this doesn't kill your fantasy team. As you've likely heard already, Carl Crawford was placed on the disabled list Sunday because of a tendon problem in his right hand. Specifically, the tendon is "out of its groove," which very well could require surgery to repair that problem. The St. Petersburg Times is reporting that we'll find out the significance of that injury Monday/Tuesday, but if Crawford does need surgery, he'll be out for the year. From a fantasy perspective, I urge you to trade Crawford today. Get 60 cents on the dollar for him, and make it a trade that others cannot pass up. Take advantage of your knowledge and attempt to capitalize, because even though Crawford's injury means that the Rays might miss the playoffs, it doesn't mean that your fantasy team needs to miss the playoffs too.
