Having watched nearly every game of Juan Pierre's career as a Chicago Cub, I would agree with the notion that Juan Pierre is one of the worst players in the major leauges. He doesn't hit for any kind of power, he hits the ball on the ground too much and seemingly gets thrown out all the time. But The Book says that Pierre isn't that bad, and everyone in Los Angeles who says that he shouldn't play should shut up. In fact, the website argues that it doesn't matter if he hits first or last.
