Even though Joba Chamberlain flew down to Birmingham to see Dr. James Andrews (who's typically the grim reaper of throwing arms) Wednesday, the 22-year-old pitcher only has rotator cuff tendinits in his pitching shoulder. This injury will require Chamberlain to rest for a week before beginning his rehabilitation throwing program. Ian Kennedy is expected to replace Chamberlain in the Yankees' rotation.
