Though Jose Vidro has hit .340 since the All-Star break, the Mariners released their DH Tuesday. The move was made not to win ballgames in the immediate future, but rather to try to speed up the youth movement the team is seeking. Taking the 33-year-old's place will be Jeff Clement and Wladamier Balentien.
