Joba Chamberlain will likely be placed on the disabled list after leaving Monday night's game against the Rangers with right shoulder stiffness after 4 2/3 innings. The Yankees' 22-year-old was seen grabbing his shoulder right before exiting the team's 9-5 walk-off loss in Texas. Chamberlain will fly back to New York Tuesday for an MRI on his shoulder. The reason why Chamberlain will likely be placed on the disabled list is because, at such a young age, he is such a vital part of the team's future. Figuring to take Chamberlain's place in the rotation are either Darrell Rasner or Ian Kennedy, the Yankees' highly-touted prospect who was a disappointment earlier in the season. Despite a rocky start that had many questioning his legitimacy as a future ace-caliber pitcher, Kennedy has had a great deal of success in the minor leagues of late.
