I was away over the weekend, so this announcement is a couple days late. Tim Hudson decided to undergo Tommy John surgery Saturday after feeling pain in his elbow. If Hudson has the surgery in the next week, he could return at the end of the 2009 season; but that might be a bit ambitious (see: Liriano, Francisco).
