Though Chris Carpenter didn't qualify for a win Wednesday night, he pitched extremely well for the Cardinals in their 7-2 win. Carpenter allowed one run and two hits over four innings, and as he builds up his arm strength, figures to become a viable fantasy option. So our advise is to pick up Carpenter if he's available in your league, and then continue to start the former Cy Young award winner unless he falls apart in the coming weeks.
