A week ago, it appeared that the Yankees were extremely close to acquiring Jarrod Washburn from the Mariners for Kei Igawa. But as is the case with many trades, the Washburn-Igawa trade has reportedly fallen apart because the Mariners are seeking a prospect and do not want to take on the mess that is Kei Igawa. So now just a mere day before the trade deadline, the Yankees are looking for a different starting pitcher.  In the meantime, Darrell Rasner will continue in the Yankees' rotation.
