Lou Piniella said before the Cubs' game against Milwaukee that closer Kerry Wood is still a long ways away from returning from a blister. Wood has been hampered by the injury on his index finger since July 11th, and will throw a simulated game Wednesday. Based on that, Wood could be return over the weekend or later.
