With the acquisition of Casey Blake, the Dodgers no longer needed third baseman Andy LaRoche on the team. LaRoche has struggled this year, so his demotion isn't all that surprising. He's gone 12/59 this year, with a .319 OBP and only two home runs and six RBIs, which the Dodgers hope will improve in Triple-A Las Vegas.
