Joe Crede was set to make a decent chunk of cash as a free agent at the end of the year, but the third baseman's stock won't be as high anymore. The White Sox placed him on the 15-day disabled list because of chronic back problems. The 30-year-old has 17 home runs and 54 RBI. Josh Fields will be called up.
