Pablo Martinez, 78, the father of Pedro, lost his battle with brain cancer Wednesday night. Pedro left the Mets' game against the Phillies in the seventh inning after hearing the news, and caught a plane to his native Dominican Republic. From a baseball perspective - Martinez will miss his next scheduled start.
