It seems inconceivable to picture Manny Ramirez finishing out his career in any uniform except Boston's. But, according to the Morning Journal, that's what could very well happen if the Red Sox feel they can acquire a better long-term player to patrol left field. Specifically, the newspaper says that Boston would cast Ramirez away if they could acquire Matt Holliday via trade in the upcoming off-season. The Red Sox have two additional club options on Ramirez's contract - both of which are worth $20 million - so Ramirez very well could stay with the team for two and a half years. But with all of the things that go along with Manny being Manny, Boston could very well just wash their hands of Ramirez at the end of the year an outfielder of similar quality. Just something to keep in mind.
