We reported yesterday that the Angels are reluctant to trade any of their young pitchers, and now the reason has become clear. Kelvim Escobar has a torn right labrum (the worst injury a pitcher can suffer in his arm), and will undergo surgery to repair it in the coming days.  Escobar will miss 9-12 months.
