The Dodgers optioned Clayton Kershaw to Double-A Thursday because he was ineffective in eight starts with the club. Compounded with this, both Hideki Kuroda and Brad Penny will return to the Dodgers' rotation, so the Dodgers decided it would be best for the young lefty to pitch on a regular schedule in Jacksonville.
