Eric Chavez was placed on the DL Wednesday because of a sore right shoulder.  The six-time Gold Glove winner had already spent a good portion of the season out of the lineup after recovering from shoulder and back surgery (he made his season debut on May 29). Taking his place is Wes Blankston.
