Mets win at Yankee Stadium, the Yankees win at Shea Stadium, and both were blow out games—15-6 for the Mets, and 9-0 for the Yankees. Carlos Delgado was the hero of the first game, with a Mets record 9 RBI's, 4 off a grand slam. Starting pitcher Sidney Ponson, in his first appearance with the Yankees, halted the Mets in the second game, pitching six innings of shutout ball.
