Baltimore Orioles CF Adam Jones was placed on the 15-day dl Tuesday due to a broken left foot. Jones fouled a ball off his foot in Saturday night's games against Seattle. At 23 years old, Adam was coming along in his first full season with the team and was hitting an impressive .326 over his last 31 games.
The Yankees have placed several of their scouts on leave due to an ongoing investigation by the league and the FBI involving prospects in the Dominican Republic. Well, the Diamondbacks accomplished just what Beane couldn't today. They extended Haren's contract for $44.75 million over the next four years.

If all goes well, expect the Mets (and several other teams) to offer Garcia a contract that lasts throughout this year. The Phillies released Garcia in the off-season after he underwent shoulder surgery.
