The A's almost had Frank Thomas on their roster. Unfortunately for them, an undisclosed team put in an offer that made Thomas pause to think it over. The question is "Who?" Rumors have been going around the last few days that the Seattle Mariners being interested. Why the secrecy then?

Chicago White Sox manager, Ozzie Guillen recently commented on the idea of his managing the Yankees. The extremely vocal manager cited Yankee’s co-chairman Hank Steinbrenner’s insistence that Joba Chamberlain be moved to the starting rotation as an example of their incompatibility. As such an outspoken manager, Guillen commented that he and Steinbrenner working together would only result in a power struggle.
There has been great controversy over where Frank Thomas might end up. It seems that the top teams in the running to acquire him are now down to Oakland, Kansas City, and Seattle. Thomas has reportedly received an offer from the Joliet Jackhammers, part of the independent Northern League, however, the A’s appear to be leading the race for an offer to Thomas in the majors and intend could go into negotiations in as little as 48 hours .
