With David Price being recalled from Triple-A, it seems that the Rays are almost back at full-strength (of course, Carl Crawford is done for the season).  This is because Evan Longoria is back with the team, who destroyed the Yankees 7-1 Saturday, on the back of a strong outing from James Shields.

Angels Eyeing Sabathia

According to a recent piece by SI.com's Jon Heyman, despite having the best record in the league and looking like the favorites for the World Series, the Angels are going to get better in the off-season.  This is the case because they are currently one of the only teams who can afford CC Sabathia.

Oswalt Tosses Complete Game

Roy Oswalt continued to be fantastic for the Astros as Hurricane Ike bears down on the city of Houston.  In Thursday's game against Pirates, Oswalt allowed three hits and no runs to push the Astros within three and a half games of the Wild Card leading Brewers.  The team's momentum could be hurt, however,

Mark Ellis Done For Season

Mark Ellis started off the season on a solid note, but as the A's started to fade, so did Ellis.  The team's second baseman will miss the remainder of the season because of surgery that he is forced to undergo because of problems healing it correctly.  This is too bad for Ellis though, because he's a free agent at the end of the season.

Kapler Could Be Done For Season

Gabe Kapler has been an important part of the Brewers' season (though not nearly the most important - that's a tie between Ryan Braun and CC Sabathia), but it look like he's done for the season.  Kapler recently tore a shoulder muscle, and will undergo physical therapy in the hope to avoid surgery.  As is typically the case with torn muscles, physical therapy will likely fail, and he'll need the surgery.  Stay tuned though.
