Crawford Will Not Return For Regular Season

The Rays and fantasy owners alike were hoping that Carl Crawford would be back for at least the last few games of the regular season, but it looks like that will not be the case. Rays manager Joe Maddon is looking forward to having Crawford play in the postseason to help out on defense and on the base paths.

Orioles Cabrera Done for the Year

Baltimore pitcher Daniel Cabrera was experiencing soreness in his right elbow and had an MRI done to gage the severity of the injury. There was no visible damage found on the scan but with their season so close to being over, the Orioles decided to shut him down for the rest of the year. Cabrera did not have a great season, with an ERA of 5.25, and some believe that this may be his last season in Baltimore.

Longoria Stellar in Rays Loss

Even though he missed about 5 weeks out on the DL, Tampa third baseman Evan Longoria is still favored to win Rookie of the Year. On Thursday, Longoria had his first ever 3-home run game, giving him 25 in 111 games on the season. Despite Longoria's efforts, the Rays did lose the game to Minnesota.

Ichiro Still A Hitting Machine

The Mariners may not be satisfied with the way there season has gone this year, but one thing is for sure, they cannot blame it on their lead off man. Ichiro went 3-3 in a 5-2 loss to the Royals and completed his 8th 200 hit season, which ties a major league record. Suzuki will always be a fantasy asset, even without the hits you still get the 43 stolen bases.
