The Red Sox have decided to postpone Josh Beckett's next start due to numbness in his right hand. Beckett was slated to start on Tuesday against Toronto, but the team needs time to figure out what is causing the tingling in his throwing hand. Boston's ace is not expected to start again until Saturday.

Sherrill On DL

Baltimore Orioles LHP George Sherrill has been placed on the 15-day DL with shoulder inflammation. With only swelling, Sherrill could join the team as a early as August 31, but the Orioles will take as much time as needed. The All-Star closer has 31 saves on the year, and Baltimore may have to save games by committee in his absence.

Wagner's Season in Doubt

Earlier reports about Billy Wagner had him returning from the dl soon, but the outlook on his season now is less than promising. Wagner has inflammation in his left elbow and is currently out indefinitely. He personally believes that he will not pitch again this year, which puts the Mets as well as fantasy owners in a very tight spot.

Matsui Hurt No More

Yankees DH and OF Hideki Matsui has finally been pulled off the DL and activated as of Tuesday. Matsui had been out with a left knee injury since June 22 but has been working steadily in rehab to recover. Yankees fans are elated to get Matsui back, but fantasy owners beware, knee injuries seldom go away without any setbacks.

Sabathia Remains Perfect With Brewers

Fantasy owners who stuck with CC Sabathia after his slow start with the Indians this season are now reaping the benefits of their loyalty. Sabathia increased his record to a perfect 8-0 since being traded to the Brew Crew with a complete game victory over the Astros on Monday. CC even helped his own cause, notching a two-run single at the plate with two outs in the fourth. This guy just can't do wrong.
