A day after Johan Santana threw a complete game on three days rest, CC Sabathia went out against the Cubs on the last day of the regular season and matched Santana with a one-run complete game against the NL Central champs also on three days rest.  It was on Sabathia's effort that the Brewers were propelled into the playoffs because of the Mets' 4-2 loss to the Marlins Sunday.  Now, the Cubs will face the Dodgers and the Brewers get the Phillies.

After both the Twins and White Sox dropped the first two games of their series against the Royals and Indians respectively, both won Sunday's game.  What this means is that the White Sox are one half game behind the Twins, and now have to play a makeup game against the Tigers Monday at US Cellular.  If they were to win, the Sox would then have to travel up to Minnesota to face the Twins Tuesday.  The White Sox-Tigers will play at 1:05 CT on WGN Monday.

The two best stories of this season have been the success of the Cubs and Rays.  Because of this, it seems fitting that both clinched their divisions Saturday afternoon, with the Cubs beating the Cardinals and the Rays defeating the second-place Twins.  Now, more than a week away from the playoffs, both teams figure to set their rotations and get everything right for the playoffs, where they will attempt to validate their seasons.
